Infant and toddler physiotherapy plays a key role in ensuring quality development. It focuses on supporting and stimulating quality musculoskeletal development and the development of psychomotor skills. It is in the first months and years of life that children rapidly develop and form their motor skills, movement stereotypes and habits. Physiotherapy of babies is important not only for congenital developmental defects or already occurring deviations, but also as prevention. In our clinic we also use specialized techniques, such as the Vojta method of reflex locomotion or the Bobath concept. We are able to work with already established deviations, such as torticollis, motor instability or motor delay, but also in terms of prevention to be kind guides to the motor development of the child. It is important to remember that the surgery is a new environment for the baby, so it is not unusual that they may not show all their skills..

During this time, the physiotherapist collects basic anamnestic data from the parents, such as the age of the baby, the course of pregnancy and childbirth, the reason for the visit and whether you came on the recommendation of a doctor or for prevention. The parents then strip the baby naked and the examination begins, with the physiotherapist using toys to motivate the baby to show what it can do and how it does it. During each physiotherapy session, including the examination, the parent stays close to the baby and the physiotherapist asks if the baby's symptoms are normal or if the baby is behaving differently at home. On the basis of this examination, the physiotherapist compares the quantity and quality of the baby's motor expression with the baby's biological or corrected age and suggests a specific therapy. The aim of the therapy is to promote the development of the baby's motor skills and ab ilities, so that the baby achieves the highest possible quality in development.
